Historic Place Plaque for Charles City College Hall

A plaque proudly proclaiming Charles City Hall being named to the National Register of Historic Places.

1983 saw Charles City Hall added to the National Register of Historic Buildings, a pretty big accomplishment for such a small college. Signs on major roads near the College and a plaque on the building itself were erected to celebrate and guide people to Morningside College's own little slice of history.

Charles City Named to Register

An article detailing Charles City Hall to the National Register of Historic Places.

In 1987, Morningside College renovated Charles City Hall and updated the old interior which had not been changed since rebuilding after the fire some seventy years prior. After the construction ended, the College rededicated the building to its Charles City heritage, paying homage to the college that merged with Morningside College the same year as the fire.
