End of War
The end of the war came abruptly in November of 1918, and Morningside College transitioned quickly back to peace. Student and faculty attention returned to topics of debate and athletics. Professor Ferguson returned to the German Department after leaving employment with the government, and Professor Cambell toured Europe promoting President Wilson's Fourteen Points. The US government demobilized the SATC in December, after only three months of existence. The barracks built to house the student-soldiers were repurposed for a time, then torn down years later. A placard was placed in Lewis Hall with all the names of all alumni and students of Morningside College that lost their lives in the war.
